Job Description

Are you a strategic, forward-thinking leader who thrives on enhancing client relationships and driving growth? As the Director of Retention Marketing at Firespring, you’ll play a pivotal role in keeping our clients excited, engaged, and eager for more through lifecycle marketing, loyalty incentives, and targeted communications. In this role, you’ll lead the development of innovative marketing strategies designed to boost client retention, create additional value, and drive cross-sell and upsell opportunities.

You’ll design and execute personalized, data-driven campaigns that deliver memorable client experiences, minimize churn, and foster deeper engagement. Whether it’s through email, direct mail, social media, or other channels, you’ll lead the charge in crafting strategies that not only retain clients but also grow their value. You’ll collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the business to ensure our retention goals are aligned with overall company strategy, using a blend of creativity and strategic insight to drive success.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive client engagement and retention strategies that drive loyalty, satisfaction, and long-term value.
  • Identify client needs and preferences, segment the client base, and target data-driven marketing campaigns that deliver personalized experiences through tailored messaging, promotions, and offers across all channels.
  • Analyze client behavior, leveraging insights to create personalized offers and anticipate cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize the client experience, from onboarding through the client lifecycle, ensuring every interaction is seamless and positive.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including product, sales, and client success, to align retention goals with business strategy and enhance client value.
  • Develop and manage cross-sell and upsell initiatives, maximizing client lifetime value with targeted offers and timely promotions.
  • Keep an eye on retention metrics, client feedback, and satisfaction scores (NPS, CSAT) to improve retention efforts continuously.
  • Manage the budget and allocate resources to ensure we get the most value out of our marketing investments.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B marketing, retention marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement successful client retention strategies that drive results and enhance client lifetime value.
  • Extensive experience with marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Emma, Hubspot, or Mailchimp. 
  • Strong experience with campaign data analytics and reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Salesforce, or Pendo.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills—you’re skilled at rallying teams and aligning stakeholders toward common goals.
  • A balance of creative problem-solving and data-driven decision-making.
  • Familiarity with the latest marketing technologies and trends to stay ahead of the curve.
